Professional golfer Greg Norman has decided to stop trying to sell his vast 26,000-square-foot residence located on Jupiter Island and has opted for its demolition instead. After several years of attempting to find a buyer and lowering the asking price from $65,000,000 to $55,000,000, Norman announced the decision on his social media on July 21, 2018, sharing a photo of the demolition and stating: “There one minute gone the next. The main house has stood proudly since 1902 with a few additions added since owning this magnificent property from 1991 on Jupiter Island, it was time to take down the old and bring in the new, which we hope to have completed by end of 2019.” He originally acquired the impressive 8-acre ocean-to-intracoastal estate in 1991 for just $4,900,000. This property, aptly named Tranquility, featured one of the oldest homes in the area, built in 1902 and remodeled and expanded over time. Aerial shots indicate that the main house had undergone renovations as recently as 2009. The estate boasted 172 feet of oceanfront, parking for 14 cars, a coach house, carriage house, and a quaint beach house with ocean views. It encompassed a total of 10 bedrooms, 14 full bathrooms, and 3 half-bathrooms. The resort-like grounds included a professional tennis court and pavilion, skate park, a 165-foot deep-water dock, a pool area with a Polynesian-style grill house, and a putting green. Greg Norman is estimated to have a net worth nearing $300,000,000.
